The house of the Scorpion (Matteo Alacran #1)
By Nancy Farmer
 Sci-fy Fantasy, future-istic,

Matteo Alacran was not born; he was harvested with the DNA from El Patron, lord of a country called Opium. Can a boy who was bred to guarantee another’s survival find his own purpose in life? And can he ever be free? Can he ever, truly live?

This book was truly captivating. I mean Matteo himself was a character that was bred and born to be a villain/hero. It was amazing, the writing, the characters, the plot... It was a book that kept me on my seat.
"enough said."

The new book continues the story of Matt, the boy who was cloned from evil drug lord El Patrón in The House of the Scorpion. Now 14 years old, Matt rules his own country, the Land of Opium, the only thriving place in a world ravaged by ecological disaster. Though he knows that the cure for ending the suffering is hidden in Opium, Matt faces obstacles and enemies at every turn when he tries to use his power to help in anyway he can. But will his power be enough?

I thought the first book was captivating. this book was enchanting, charming, attractive, ect.
And in the second book, I love the relation ship between Matteo and his girl. I love how he says in the last pages,
"I.. also want to marry you." something along those lines. It was so cute!
*Gush, Gush*
Love, Love, Love!
